![]() Germany has a strong tradition of creating powerful and dynamic theatre for young people. Theatr Iolo will be running a workshop on Sunday 7th June at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff from 1pm – 6pm to explore some of these texts in translation as part of the EGIN:SPRINGBOARD Festival. You can join in or observe. The workshop is free but places are limited. If you are interested or want more information phone or text Kevin Lewis on 07506 155548 or email info@theatriolo.com Following the workshop at 7.15 pm there will be rehearsed reading of extracts from vibrant German plays including KLAMM’S WAR by Kai Hensol (translated by Mario Golden and Andreas Robertz) Klamm enters his classroom and is confronted by a wall of silence. His students have declared war, blaming him for what happened to a fellow pupil. Can Klamm defend himself? This eloquent , award winning monologue grapples with the constraints of institutions which turn pupils and teachers into mortal enemies. Following the readings there will be an open forum discussing issues around creating theatre for young people.
