The smash-hit musical Beauty and the Beast returns to the New Theatre for a two week run following sell out performances on its 2007 visit from Tuesday 23 June – Saturday 4 July.Beauty and the Beast tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial French town and of the Beast, really a young prince trapped in a spell by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love, and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. If he doesn't learn his lesson soon the household will be doomed forever. One of the most popular and romantic fables ever told, the 1991 Disney animated film is brought to life on stage in a spectacular musical featuring the much-loved characters Lumiere, Cogsworth, Gaston, Belle and Mrs Potts.
