ODYSSEY THEATRE(Hijinx’s mixed ability community group)has reached the semi-finals of THE NATIONAL LOTTERY AWARDS An annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects to celebrate and recognise the difference that they can make to people and communities across the UK

We are absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted for a National Lottery Award in the category of ‘Best Arts Project’. As the only arts project to be shortlisted from Wales – we would love everyone’s support to make it to the finals!
As part of Hijinx Theatre, Odyssey Theatre has, for 10 years, run weekly workshops for a mixed ability group and created regular productions which offer a fun night out. Members with and without learning disabilities work together as equals, collaborating regularly with a special school, the local music & drama college and other arts organisations and culminating in a professional show at the Weston Studio, Wales Millennium Centre; Odyssey changes lives.

“It’s a fantastic achievement to have reached the semi-final of The National Lottery Awards, now we need all our supporters to get behind us and vote! Without Lottery funding our project wouldn’t exist, so it’s great for us and our inclusive work to be recognized in this way.” Gaynor Lougher, Odyssey Theatre

To make it through to the finals, with your help, would be a dream come true for all our members – and certainly something to celebrate in true Odyssey style!
