Swansea Grand Theatre in association with Ian Dickens Productions presents Summer Repertory Season 2009
Swansea Grand Theatre’s annual Summer Repertory Season is almost upon us, offering five glorious weeks – no matter what the weather – of great drama with a host of well know celebrity actors taking part.

The season kicks off, Tuesday 21st – Saturday 25th July, with the ingenious murder mystery ‘Strictly Murder’ by Brain Clemens, starring Ben Roberts (The Bill), Giles Watling (Bread), Kim Tiddy (The Bill) and Repertory regular Sabina Franklyn. Lies, subterfuge and murder make this a fast moving thriller with a rollercoaster ride of bluff and double bluff.

Tuesday 28th July – Saturday 1st August, sees the revival of the classic comedy ‘Rattle of a Simple Man’ by Charles Dyer with Hannah Waterman (EastEnders) and Huw Higginson (The Bill). A bittersweet comedy that promises a great evening’s entertainment.

Another hilarious evening of entertainment is offered from Tuesday 4th – Saturday 8th August as the smash hit comedy, ‘The Tart and the Vicar’s Wife’ by Joan Shirley, takes to the stage with an all star cast of Linda Armstrong, (The Royal) (replacing the advertised Bernie Nolan) alongside Emmerdale’s Matt Healy, Sarah Jane Buckley, (Hollyoaks) and Marcus Hutton, (Brookside).

A web of intrigue and murder, with a maze of clues and crimes and cross and double-cross occurs on Tuesday 11th – Saturday 15th August with ‘Write Me A Murder’ by Frederick Knott. Another hugely talented cast led by Leslie Grantham (EastEnders) with Christopher Villiers, (Emmerdale) Paul Opacic, (Bad Girls) and Helen Weir, (Emmerdale) lead us to solve the dilemma of who is the murderer and who is the victim!

The final play of the 2009 Repertory Season, Tuesday 18th – Saturday 22nd August is the wonderfully funny farce, ‘Pools Paradise’ by Philip King – the follow-up to last year’s hugely successful and memorable ‘See How They Run’. A delightful period comedy to send audiences home thoroughly entertained by a sterling cast led by Ben Roberts (The Bill), David Janson (Keeping up Appearances) and Frankie Fitzgerald (EastEnders)
