Living Willow Theatre Becomes a Radio Star!

Living Willow Theatre Becomes a Radio Star! The Living Willow Theatre is the star of a half hour feature programme airing on Radio Wales on Thursday 30 July at 6.30pm. The Radio Wales Arts Show visited the theatre as part of a general piece on outdoor theatre but was so impressed and enchanted with the Glôb Byw that they decided to devote a whole half hour programme to this unique performance space. The programme is being repeated on Saturday at 6.30pm and will then be available for the following seven days on the Radio Wales website at

On Sunday 26 July, acclaimed Welsh baritone Mark Evans accompanied by Brian Davies on piano delighted audiences with the premiere of a programme especially devised for the Living Willow Theatre in Llanwrthwl. Mark sang British songs including settings of Shakespeare by Schubert, Vaughan Williams and many others. This unique programme will be broadcast on Radio 3 in the Autumn.

Next the Living Willow Theatre is welcoming back stand-up storyteller Peter Searles to perform the second part of his hilarious South American travel series ‘Hey Gringo!’ on Saturday August 8 at 7pm. Note: This performance is only suitable for age 14 and over. Doors open at 6.15pm for tea, soup and bar.
