Fishamble plans to create an original and stimulating theatre production in order to make a substantial and unique theatrical contribution to Temple Bar’s Summer 2002 Diversions programme. We are eager to find, develop and produce a new script, which will engage imaginatively and creatively with the possibilities of performance in Meeting House Square or other locations in Temple Bar. The script to be produced will be chosen by means of an open tender. To enter the competition, each writer must submit the following: A short (1 page) summary of the idea. A short (1 page) description of how this idea engages with the challenges and possibilities of site-specific, open-air performance in Temple Bar. A short (3 page) sample of the script. Full contact details. The idea must be new and original. The length of the piece should ultimately be between 15 and 75minutes. A maximum of four of the entrants will be chosen to develop the script towards a first draft and will have the opportunity of close collaboration with Fishamble in the process. Each of the shortlisted entrants will receive 600 Euros to develop the idea to first draft stage. From this group, one script will receive a full commission and be produced in Temple Bar as part of Diversions 2002.
