If you are a Welsh Writer, Writer/Director or a Writer and Director team with a great script for a short film - and you’re looking for your next short to put you firmly on the UK’s talent radar - Digital Shorts Wales 2010 is the scheme foryou. Funded by the UK Film Council’s New Cinema Fund and the Film Agency for Wales, Digital Shorts Wales is looking for established directing and writing talent living and working in Wales, who want to make a compelling short film as a next step in their film career. Under this call for applications we intend to work with the best Welsh talent, to produce a slate of up to 5 digital short films. These can be anything between 5 and 12 minutes in length (films up to 15 minutes in length will be considered in exceptional circumstances). A maximum of twelve projects will be selected for development. Up to 5 films will then be commissioned with budgets of between £7,000 and £13,000 (depending upon the project). Applications should come from Writers, Writer/Directors or Writer and Director teams (who will work with our in-house production team) or from Writer/Directors and Writer and Director teams with a preferred producer/production company attached (subject to approval). Digital Shorts Wales will be the premier vehicle for digital short film production in Wales, aimed at established Welsh film-making talent.
