“Tall Tales” presented by Clwyd Theatr Cymru Theatre for Young People

“Tall Tales” presented by Clwyd Theatr Cymru Theatre for Young People With the nights getting longer and the days shorter, Clwyd Theatr Cymru for Young People will be bringing some festive fun to Nantyffyllon North Memorial Hall (locally known as “Nanty

Library”) with “Tall Tales” on Tuesday 22 December at 7pm.

Written and directed by award winning Tim Baker and promoted by a group from Nantyffyllon Youth Club, “Tall Tales” promises to be full of magical beings, fabulous creatures, fun, laughter

and live music. This new play retells the ageless tales of myth and legend in an exciting and visual performance designed to capture and stretch the imaginations. Using live music, drama,

puppets and wizardry, an enchanting world of stories will be created.

A Night Out production, “Tall Tales” is supported by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts & Culture Service. Night Out is an Arts Council of Wales scheme that helps local organisations

bring professional performances into the community. Nantyfyllon’s youth club members have been learning all about marketing, stage management and box office, and will be putting their

“front of house” skills into action on the night when they will be in charge – selling tickets, showing people to their seats and making opening and closing speeches. Young children in local

schools are also taking part in a competition organised by the youth club and Hafod Housing Association, to win free family tickets to the show.

Nantyffyllon Youth Club members are very keen to persuade local people to attend, explaining;

“This is a great opportunity for all your family and friends to watch this wonderful entertainment. You should really try to come to watch this because it’s local, it’s funny and fun and it is

something for everyone. We hope you all turn up to make this show even better because you should all know that a great audience makes a better performance”.

Tickets can be bought in advance from Alan Hurley on 01656 737970, members of the Youth Club or on the night, of £3 for adults and £2 for children.
