Summer Sessions Open Mic Night & Boutique Market launched at The Riverfront in June ’09 and these Sessions are now a monthly fixture in The Riverfront calendar. The next Sessions in on Friday 14 May from 5pm until 11pm. Sessions at The Riverfront are a unique, chilled out evening of performance and boutique market stalls with a micro-festival vibe. If the weather is good, the Open Mic is held on the terrace overlooking the River Usk. Stalls will be running from 5pm until 11pm in the foyer, so start saving your pennies as you will be treated to everything from hand-made toiletries, vintage-inspired ceramics, vinyl, arts and crafts, vintage clothing, hand-made fashion, jewellery and accessories and more! This is a one of a kind boutique shopping experience and will be the place to buy yourself and your loved ones a present or two that are a little bit different. The best thing is that all the stall holders are local, so you will be supporting local creative folk by coming along! You can even get a divine Indian Head Massage for a fiver! The Open Mic part of the night will begin at 7pm, running until 11pm and is always hosted by a different local performer. You can relax with a drink whilst being entertained by an array of acts. Last time there was everything from poetry, comedy, storytelling and plenty of live music and everyone goes on for a drink after! All genres of music are welcome too. If you’d like to be involved with Summer Sessions, The Riverfront would love to hear from any of you local creative people out there, from fashion designers and vintage fashionistas to arts and crafts makers and even those selling something a little bit out of the ordinary.
