The Welsh College of Music and Drama in collaboration with Media Skills Wales and Sgrin are seeking writers to produce scripts for 3 x 10 minute shorts which will be filmed on location on 35mm in January and February 2002. This follows an identical project which successfully took place under the same conditions last Spring. The films will provide training opportunities for 3 new directors, 20 student Actors and Stage Management students. Key production posts will be filled by experienced professionals. At the discretion of the above training partners, the films will receive public viewings and may be offered to interested broadcasters for possible transmission. Collectively, the scripts must take account of the following: 1 ) The three films must include named parts for (typically) 3 Male and 4 Female Acting students - although some negotiation between the writers may allow for other casting breakdowns. 2 ) Every attempt should be made to produce scripts which provide for equitable casting. 3 ) One of the scripts will be bi-lingual, casting 2 Welsh speaking women.
