Theatre – related grants from the Arts Council of Wales Lottery Unit (as announced on 30th October 2001) India Dance Wales £63,894.00 A two year project with two distinct elements: 1) Skills training and development - to train a trainer to teach Bharat Natyam to the required level of the newly approved ISTD (Imperial Society of Teaching of Dancing) syllabus, and then to train amateur dancers in the syllabus. 2) Education Project – to deliver schools residencies in Indian dance and associated artforms to schools in Caerphilly and Torfaen. Theatr y Byd £53,931.00 A seven month project to produce a series of pub theatre events and associated workshops and outreach activity with the aim of beginning to develop a sustainable audience for theatre in Newport. Diversions Dance Company Ltd £17,906.00 Purchase of technical equipment for a professional touring dance company based in Cardiff. Broli Cymraeg Trust £12,733.00 A 7 month project with Indigo Theatre Company to deliver a performance and workshop programme in a targeted rural area in Flintshire and Denbighshire.
