BREATHTAKING DANCE AT RCT THEATRES Rhondda Cynon Taf Cultural Services has some stunning dance coming up this Autumn, from a breathtaking production from Independent Ballet Wales to the most famous ballet of all time, the enchanting Swan Lake presented by Rudolf Nureyev Russian State Ballet Academy.

At The Park & Dare Theatre on Wednesday 20 October at 7.30pm is Critics Circle Award winning company Independent Ballet Wales and their outstanding production of The Lady Of The Lake. This new and breathtaking version of the most famous Welsh folk tale of them all, the Lady of Llyn Y Fan Fach, the fairy bride lured from her underwater home to become a farmer’s wife on the Brecon Beacons, features stunning costumes, breathtaking choreography and heart breaking passion bringing to life this tale of love and loss.

Independent Ballet Wales are a young, vital group of dancers who are pushing back the barriers of classical ballet. Using powerful and timeless stories the company challenges its dancers to interpret some of the finest characters in literature. With a unique style the Welsh Independent Ballet is the perfect way to enjoy a high standard of dance and storytelling. Tickets cost Circle £10.00 & £9.00, Stalls £9.00 & £8.00, Children £7.00.

At The Coliseum Theatre on Wednesday 3 November at 7.30pm the prestigious Rudolf Nureyev Russian State Ballet Academy present Swan Lake. A compelling legend of tragic romance tells story of Oddette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil curse. Featuring a timeless score from incredible composer Tchaikovsky, this enchanting fairy tale has the magical combination of a compelling story and mesmerising choreography that allows the very best dancers to show just how impressive they can be. With sumptuous costumes, lavish sets and spell binding dance Swan Lake is considered to be one of the greatest classical ballets of all time, full of mystery and romance. Tickets cost £18.00, concessions £16.50.

The Ballet Academy is named after legendary Nureyev, who was a star of the London Royal Ballet for over fifteen years. With the heritage of the greatest dancer of the 20th century, his high professionalism and self-devotion makes the Ballet Academy one of the World’s best choreographic schools.
