Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru Starts The Search for a New Artistic Director |
Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, the Welsh language national theatre, has started the search for a new Artistic Director. Adverts will appear in the press this week that announces that the Company, which has offices in Carmarthen, West Wales, is hunting for a new Artistic Director to create a new vision and direction for the Company in the future. The post is full time and the Artistic Director will be appointed for a period of 5 years. The previous Artistic Director, Cefin Roberts, resigned in March 2010 following a period of 7 years with the Company. Since then, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru has undertaken a review of all activities in order for the Company to plan ahead for a bright future. Prof Ioan Williams, the Chair of Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru said: “With the start of a new year, we at Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru are also turning over a new leaf by starting the search for a new Artistic Director to take the helm. “We very much hope that this important and exciting post will appeal to directors and practitioners and I would urge them to apply.” The closing date for applications will be Monday 07 February 2011.
