Ravishing and entrancing new commissions from three international choreographers at the top of their game created with National Dance Company Wales. Marking his choreographic debut with the Company, American choreographer Stephen Petronio’s gorgeous By Singing Light is inspired by the beautiful poetry of Dylan Thomas with an exquisite, original score from fellow New Yorker Son Lux, incorporating Welsh songs. Gustavo Ramírez Sansano has created a character-filled new dance that is based on the glorious Minkus’ ballet score for Don Quixote. From the physicality of the dance to the beautiful set, the Spaniard delights with a visual feast. Itzik Galili’s Romance Inverse is an intoxicating fusion of elegant dance with a driving new score by Percossa, music from Steve Reich and glorious, atmospheric lighting that will have you gasping for more. ‘If you only see one dance show in your life, see this’ Western Mail on By Singing Light ‘National Dance Company Wales’ Spring Tour is pure contemporary genius’ The Guardian National Dance Company Wales will be touring to: Mold / Yr Wyddgrug Clwyd Theatr Cymru 07 – 08/04, 7.30pm Petronio & Sansano 0845 330 3565 / clwyd-theatr-cymru.co.uk Milford Haven / Aberdaugleddau Theatr Torch Theatre 10 – 11/05, 7.30pm Petronio & Sansano 01646 695267 / torchtheatre.co.uk |
