‘DIRTY DANCING' TO MAKE ITS WELSH DEBUT AT WALES MILLENNIUM CENTRE IN 2012 |
‘Dirty Dancing’, the record-breaking smash-hit musical, is to make its Welsh debut at Wales Millennium Centre, next year, as part of its first ever UK tour. It will play at the Centre from 6 November – 1 December 2012.‘Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage’ is written by Eleanor Bergstein, script writer and creator of the original film. The stage version features the much-loved characters and original dialogue from the iconic film, with exciting extra scenes added in. It includes tantalising dance sequences and brand new choreography set to all the hits from the unforgettable soundtrack, including ‘Do You Love Me?’, ‘Hungry Eyes’, and the Academy Award Winning ‘I’ve Had The Time Of My Life’, and many more songs that weren’t on the original recording, making the show a truly live experience. Over five million people worldwide have now seen ‘Dirty Dancing’, with the London show alone having been seen by over one million audience members. When it opened in London’s Aldwych Theatre in 2006, ‘Dirty Dancing sold out there 6 months in advance, breaking West End records. Fiona Allan, Wales Millennium Centre’s Artistic Director said: ‘We’re delighted that ‘Dirty Dancing’ is making its Welsh debut at the Centre next year.
