In a press release Nofit State say""Nofit State is delighted to become a revenue client of Arts Council England from 2012 onwards. This funding will enable us to develop and expand the range and scope of our work throughout England – investing in the development of contemporary circus and taking our productions to new audiences. We are enormously grateful to ACE for this support and want to thank everybody who has worked so hard for so many years to help get us to this point. At the same time we are deeply concerned for all our friends within the arts who will not get such good news today and cannot really celebrate while we know that other companies will face drastic cuts to their work or even closure. We are passionately committed to the work we create and the people we reach. We will make sure that every penny counts and makes a real difference. And we will continue to believe that the arts are central to a civilised society – defining who and what and when we are. Throughout 2011 we will be staging Barricade in Southampton, Winchester, Great Yarmouth, and Barrow-in Furness. Barricade is a large scale open air production commissioned by a consortium of nine English and French partners, ZEPA. We will be working at the Eden Project in Cornwall to create a new site specific production, Labyrinth, which will be performed throughout August. We will be developing our new theatre production ready for English touring from 2012 onwards." |
