Claire Sweeney stars in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black’s classic musical Tell Me On A Sunday at the New Theatre, Cardiff from Monday 4 – Saturday 9 July.Tell Me On A Sunday charts the romantic misadventures of a young English girl newly arrived in New York. Brimming with optimism, she seeks success, companionship and, of course, love. But as she weaves her way through the maze of the city and her own anxieties, frustrations and heartaches she begins to wonder whether she’s been looking for love in the right places. Originally conceived for television starring Marti Webb, Tell Me On A Sunday has been performed by a host of musical theatre stars including Sarah Brightman, Lulu, Faye Tozer and Denise Van Outen. Now Claire Sweeney takes on this celebrated role which has been remodelled for her by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black, with an exclusive new song Dreams Never Run On Time. This accompanies the wonderful original score that features the chart topping song Take That Look Off Your Face. Having received critical acclaim for her role, Claire is one of the UK’s best loved personalities with a string of credits to her name on stage and screen. Television work includes Brookside, Loose Women, 60 Minute Makeover and My Big Fat Diet. Theatre roles include Roxie Hart in Chicago and Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls.
