On Saturday July 9th at 6pm, audiences at the Willow Globe near Llanwrthwl will have a rare opportunity to see innovative and exciting theatre company, The Factory, on their own doorsteps. They will be spicing up a production of Shakespeare’s Cymbeline with their own unique blend of flavourings, ably directed by Tim Carroll (who spent several years at the Globe Theatre as Master of Verse and associate director).Based in London, this young theatre company is renowned for its risk-taking approach and gained a cult following from celebrities such as Ewan McGregor with its “guerrilla” performances of Hamlet in 2008. Actors are given only cue scripts containing their lines and their cues but no other information or rehearsal before the performance. Props and costumes are whatever can be found at the venue sites and are often borrowed from audience members, who can sometimes unwittingly find themselves starring in the show! The result is theatre that is spontaneous, never to be repeated and completely thrilling. Don’t miss this unique chance to see the heavyweight rematch between Romans and Britons in The Factory’s production of Cymbeline. Tickets cost £9 for adults and £5 for children under 12. You can get your tickets online at www.willowglobe.co.uk, from ticket outlets The Arches in Rhayader on 01597 810 921 or Verzon’s Bookshop and Gallery in Llandrindod Wells on 01597 825 171 |
