From mellow drama to melodrama, Rhondda Cynon Taff Cultural Services brand new act 8 Drama Season features brilliant comedy, a brand new comedy from Frank Vickery, a contemporary classic and storytelling of a different kind.Kicking off the season at The Muni Arts Centre is Frank Vickery’s never toured before hilarious play Biting The Bullet from Tuesday 27 September to Saturday 1 October at 7.30pm plus a matinee performance on Wednesday 28 at 1.00pm. After 32 years of marriage, Beryl is shattered by some devastating news from her husband, Ted. Her world falls apart and she is distraught, but gradually she back from the edge of despair helped by her exuberant daughter Angie and down-to-earth neighbour, Dawn. She decides it’s time to live life to the full – with some help from a very unexpected source. What will people say? Does Beryl care anyway? This poignant and entertaining comedy is Frank Vickery at his sharpest! Eve Ensler’s hilarious Broadway and West End smash hit is back featuring a new all star cast including the brilliant Tiana Benjamin (Eastenders) the stunning Louisa Lyton (Eastenders, The Bill) and the sensational Wendi Peters (Coronation Street, Celebrity Masterchef). The Muni Arts Centre also welcomes the return of Blackrat Productions and a new adaptation by John Godber of the award winning comedy Up’N’ Under on Thursday 10 November at 7.30pm. Set in the South Wales Valleys and the competitive world of Rugby union this hilarious comedy tells the story of Arthur, who for a bet undertakes training the local sevens side to play a match against the ‘best side’ in the Rhondda Valleys, while Arthur is confident of a win the boys however do not share his optimism!
