Starring Olivier award-winning Tracie Bennett, the show has taken the West End by storm with its thrilling, moving and tragic depiction of Garland’s attempt to reclaim her crown as the greatest talent of her generation.London, December 1968, and Judy Garland is about to make her comeback…again. She battles with a tornado of drugs and alcohol and a gruelling schedule of exhausting concerts at The Talk Of The Town. Despite a series of failed marriages, Judy has her latest and youngest husband-to-be by her side, a man as determined as she that, at any cost, these concerts will mark the revival of her battered career. Directed by Tony and Olivier award-winner Terry Johnson, End of the Rainbow features a six piece on stage band and includes Garland’s most memorable songs including The Man That Got Away, Come Rain Or Shine, The Trolley Song and Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Tracie Bennett’s remarkable portrayal of this tough, talented, compelling woman was rewarded with standing ovations at every performance throughout a sell-out West End run. Tracie’s previous theatre credits include La Cage aux Folles, for which she received the Whatsonstage Award for Best Supporting Performance in a Musical, Madame Thénardier in Les Misérables, Velma von Tussle in Hairspray and Ilona in She Loves Me, both of which won her the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Performance. Tracie is also well known for playing Sharon Gaskell in Coronation Street. Tracie is joined by a talented supporting cast that includes Hilton McRae (Mamma Mia!, Les Misérables, Miss Saigon) who plays her loyal pianist. His performance earned him a nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at this year’s Olivier Awards. Norman Bowman (Les Misérables, West Side Story) plays Judy’s fiancé, Mickey Deans and Robert Maskell (La Cage aux Folles, The Sound of Music) who plays the radio interviewer.
