Welsh actor Aimee Corbett and Vanessa Hammick rode their Hobby Horses Marley and Marmalade from Mid Wales to London this summer! They traced the old Drovers roads and collected stories from all who they met. They covered over 200 miles and collected over 200 stories in 17 days!Their performance installation - a mix of visual art, sound and stories gives the audience a glimpse of their adventures and invites anyone who might care to share a tale of their own to contribute it to Aimee and Vanessa’s growing pot of stories. “all the stories touched us somehow, there was sadness and laughter, stories of romance, hope and outright fabrications abounded. We are examining how our own lenses of perception distort the stories we heard and how we re-draw and re-tell them.” .now.here. is part of Powys Arts Month http://www.powysartsmonth.org.uk/whats-on/artists-details/artist/nowhere.html, it opened at the Willow Globe last weekend where audiences exclaimed; “It was so fresh and fun! – and funny I loved the camel and the gardeners shed!” “Thought provoking and stimulating stories with such a wide range of emotional content and reaction” “Great idea and what an experience, story- telling is such an essential part of our cultural heritage” and now you can catch it at Wyeside in Builth from 16th -23rd October, where Aimee will be on hand to tell a few stories and hear some more.
