Sherman Cymru presents timeless children’s story
this Christmas
This Christmas Sherman Cymru will be presenting The Elves and the Shoemakers / Y Coblynnod a’r Cryddion, a magical story for the under 7s and their families.

The Elves and the Shoemakers / Y Coblynnod a’r Cryddion is the story of two Shoemakers – a husband and wife who are too old and tired to make any more shoes. There’s no bread in the breadbin, no wood for the fire and no money to buy each other presents for Christmas.

Then just before Christmas Eve two mischievous Elves spread some magic to help the old Shoemakers. The little Elves have an idea…there’s still one last piece of leather to make one more pair of shoes…

Director, James Williams is excited about working on the show:

“When I was growing up it was one of my favourite stories. Children are often scared about things that may lurk in the dark (I know I was) but in this show, when the Shoemakers go to bed, out of the darkness comes something wonderful; two naughty and very silly Elves emerge from the gloom, giving a helping hand and spreading a lot of Christmassy magic.

The play has so many lovely things about it. From the moment that the children enter they are immersed in a new and magical world where politeness and courtesy are rewarded by good luck. The play will feature amazing puppet Elves and beautiful music played by a live musician."

Sherman Cymru has a strong reputation for providing quality theatre for the very young, staged within a beautiful visually-engaging and evocative environment. The production has both English language (The Elves and the Shoemakers) and Welsh language (Y Coblynnod a’r Cryddion) performances.

The Elves and the Shoemakers / Y Coblynnod a’r Cryddion is on at the Wales Millennium Centre from 13 - 31 December – for detailed performance times go to www.wmc.org.uk Tickets are £6 and can be booked now from the Box Office on 029 2063 6464 or online at www.wmc.org.uk
