PANTOMIME veteran Richard Cheshire takes to the stage once again as the dame in this year's Wardens' pantomime at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.Cheshire, who has also written and directed 'The Magical Adventures of Robin Hood' plays Robin's mum, Mrs Hood! He is joined by pantomime favouritesDavid Blumfield as the dastardly Sherriff of Nottingham, Julie McNicholls as the evil Hagwitch, Theresa Jones as Morgana and Rachel Crane as the Good Enchantress. Elinor Powell is musical director and Carl Ryan, choreographer. Dark and mysterious forces are at work in Sherwood Forest! Whilst good King Richard is fighting overseas, the Sheriff of Nottingham is desperately searching for the Golden Crown. He is in league with his mother and the wicked Hagwitch and is determined to rule the kingdom using her black magic. But first they must defeat our hero, the brave Robin Hood, and his band of Merry Men and frisky damsels! With swashbuckling fights, spectacular sets, dazzling costumes, plenty of comedy and lots of knockabout fun, this is the perfect pantomime treat for all the family. The show runs from 7th-21st of January. Tickets cost £14 for adults, £11 for children and concessions and this year, for the first time, a family ticket is available for £38 (maximum 2 adults, and available for performances from Saturday 7th to Saturday 14th January inclusive).
