The audience is in control for Mr and Mrs Clark’s new creation ‘NINE’ |
Mr and Mrs Clark are a collective-creative force of nature and will be performing their new show in The Riverfront Studio Theatre for the first time on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 February at 7.45pm. ‘Nine’ is a unique piece of interactive dance theatre that gives the audience the opportunity to create a truly individual show, as they have the power to choose not only the order of the show as it unfolds, but also to see scenes repeated as many times as they wish to manipulate the story. It’s a truly physical performance that fuses theatre, dance, live music and multi-media, all with a Film-Noir feel. As the audience walks into the incredible, immersive set, they know they’re in for a unique experience that they can be part of. The unpredictable and endearing couple, who live in Basseleg and are well know in Newport and beyond for their unique performances, use a combination of performance styles and multi-media, and in ‘Nine’, they ask the audience to choose the direction of the show with a piece of chalk and a clapper board. The duo is not afraid of taking risks in their performances. Nine follows up their raucous Medicine Show that cured members of the audience using alternative creative therapy. Mr and Mrs Clark’s new show ‘Nine promises to live up to their unique, irrepressible style of performance under the direction of one of Wales’ said one of Wales’ leading theatre directors and choreographers, Sean Tuan John who is directing and choreographing the show. “We are excited about audience members choosing what happens next,” said Mr Clark. “It will make each scene very spontaneous, which should make the whole show very different every time.” With a set designed by Suzi Dorey the show promises to be a colourful experience that’s in the hands of the audience.
