From stage to screen     

From stage to screen Earthfall and University of Plymouth are hosting a Dance on Screen evening at Plymouth University on Wednesday 28th March 2012, featuring films from across the UK, followed by a Q&A with directors and film-makers. This is the final month in a three month dance on screen event in Plymouth.

Jessica Cohen and Chris Lewis Smith two of the directors involved as well as Ruth Way will be hosting the Q&A after the screening. This is also the world premiere of Earthfall’s latest short film The Factory, which re-tells their last production The Factory based on Andy Warhol’s Silver Factory in New York.

Films featured include:
Tea Time (2007) - Dir. Lisa May Thomas . In a deserted cafe two men exchange their time and unspoken thoughts. 

Bodmin Whale (2009) - Dir. Chris-Lewis Smith. In Bodmin Whale the movement material draws on the topography, textures, history and weather of a mossy oak wood. 

The Last GIG (2010) - Dir. Earthfall. The Last GIG is a reflective look at the life of a band on tour, with dark humour, affecting music and bold dance. 

Mirrorland (2010) - Dir. Chris-Lewis Smith. Mirrorland draws on investigations into how we experience landscape, in this instance one that is English and agricultural. 

GRAVITAS – POSTCARDS (2009) - Dir. Earthfall. GRAVITAS was shot on location at The Hayes outside St David’s Hall, Cardiff. (Nominated for Bafta Cymru Best Short Film 2011)

Blind Torrent (2012) - Dir. Russell Frampton and Ruth Way. Blind Torrent explores the perception of the body within landscape and the relationship between actual and imagined archaeological artefacts. 
The Factory (2012) – Dir Earthfall. A premier of Earthfall’s latest short film based on their last touring production The Factory. Based on Andy Warhols Silver Factory.

Earthfall have previously won a BAFTA Cymru award for Best Short Film for Too Old to Dream and were nominated for a BAFTA Cymru award for Best Short Film for GFAVITAS – POSTCARDS 2011.
