Award-winning family entertainment Swamp Juice is a delightful production full of silliness and surprises, and it comes to Blackwood Miners' Institute on Thursday 24th May. The show is set in a swamp – but a swamp like no other; with bickering snails, opera singing mice and a rather spineless monster. Using shadow puppetry and reclaimed props, performer Jeff Achtem presents his gurgling new adventure about life in a swamp with a stunning 3D finale! Acclaimed Canadian entertainer Jeff Achtem has created a show that crackles with wit, seduces with charm and surprises with spectacle, all conjured into an artistic, comic and an intricate shadow-puppet show enjoyed by adults and children alike. But be warned: some scenes might be a bit scary for viewers under 7 years of age. Jeff studied at l’École de Mime Omnibus Montréal, and then in the Le Coq style, with Cirque de Soleil clown, Rene Bazinet. Performing internationally since 1999, Jeff’s silent clown character, Mr Bunk, is influenced by traditional European street clowning and audience improvisation. His unique performances are in demand worldwide, and he has appeared at arts festivals, variety theatres and cabarets around the globe. Swamp Juice is at is at Blackwood Miners’ Institute on Thursday 24th May at 7.00pm. Tickets cost £10.00/ £8.00/ family tickets £32.00 and are available now from the Box Office on 01495 227206 or online at www.blackwoodminersinstitute.com |
