Two new plays by Howard Barker at Aberystwyth Arts Centre
Pot of Thieves presents two new plays by Howard Barker: Acts (Chapter One) and Lot and his God at Aberystwyth Arts Centre Wednesday 30 May 7.45.

Both plays explore religion, lust and what happens when an angel walks into your life.

In Lot and His God an angel meets Lot and his wife in a filthy café where he attempts to convince them to leave the city of Sodom prior to its imminent destruction. What follows is the moral decay of an angel and the erotic epiphany of an adored wife.

In Acts (Chapter One) an angel arrives at the estate of a woman whose husband's recent departure has left several men to compete for her estate and her body, while her husband seeks refuge with an obscene priest with a violent past.

Pot of Thieves are an Aberystwyth based theatre company who seek to create and stage radical, controversial and original performances of dramatic texts; grounded in an inter-cultural disciplining of the actors expressive bodies.

They aim to produce work that is emotionally highly charged, intellectually stimulating and politically pertinent. Demonstrating a collision and collusion of intellect and artistry within the physically creative act.

The company has been selected for this year’s International Student Drama Festival.
