Later this month the arts center Chapter in Cardiff, Wales, will present a mini-season of recent Howard Barker plays from both established and new independent companies. Opening on Tuesday 19 June, the young Pot of Thieves company offers a double-bill of Slowly and Five Names, the first directed by Phoebe Patey-Ferguson and the second co-directed by Patey-Ferguson and William Pritchard. Beginning on Friday 22 June, the Lurking Truth Theatre Company presents a new production of I Saw Myself, directed by Richard Lynch. And finally, to close the festival, David Ian Rabey, a founding member of Lurking Truth, sits down with Barker himself for a wide-ranging discussion of the dramatist’s work on Wednesday 27 June.
