Hijinx Theatre are preparing for their forthcoming tour for people with learning disabilities. Some Day Soon will be the first production of acclaimed Hijinx Theatre's celebratory 21st Birthday year. The show, which delves into the feelings and emotions experienced during a close relationship, will open at Newport Mencap Centre on Tuesday 16th April and go on to tour Wales and England for ten weeks. For people with learning disabilities, relationships are often quite difficult to contend with. Some Day Soon will explore the lives of four people as they learn to cope with the joys and agonies that relationships bring. Hijinx Theatre address this issue with sensitivity and humour. Some Day Soon brings together the talents of three founder members of Hijinx Theatre. Gaynor Lougher, as Director, Glenys Evans, Writer, and Matthew Bailey, Composer and Musical Director ~ a timely reunion to coincide with the start of Hijinx's celebratory year. With a cast of four, Some Day Soon promises to be a thought-provoking and empowering piece of theatre, that will undoubtedly last in the minds of the audience, long after the actors have left the stage. Although the production is created for adults with learning disabilities, Hijinx Theatre do actively encourage parents, carers, friends and families to watch the show. The themes that are raised within the play are relevant to all members of the community. For further information, please contact Emma Routledge, Tour Booking & Publicity Officer on 029 20 300331 |
