This October, young people from across South Wales will come together with major national arts organisations to bring one of the greatest stories ever told to life. Inspired by the exotic Thousand and One Nights and featuring Rimsky Korsakov’s much-loved orchestral suite performed by the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, Scheherazade 2012 is a magical live experience bringing 200 performers and different art forms together. For one night only, Scheherazade 2012 fuses music, words and movement to thrilling effect. Scheherazade 2012 is a multi-arts project created and produced by National Dance Company Wales, Welsh National Opera and Literature Wales. Commissioned by Cardiff Council’s Creative Arts Support Team, supported by Arts Active and St David’s Hall. This project is part of ArtWorks: Developing Practice in Participatory Settings which is a Paul Hamlyn Foundation Special Initiative.
