Tickets all snapped up for first ever UK tour of The Mousetrap at the New Theatre, Cardiff

The first ever UK tour of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap has sold out its week- long run at the New Theatre. Tickets went on sale back in December 2011 for the show, which is in Cardiff from Monday 8 – Saturday 13 October. Due to the phenomenal demand for tickets, an extra performance was added in May, which also soon sold out.

Celebrating 60 years on stage, this Diamond Anniversary tour of The Mousetrap features an all-star cast that includes Steven France (EastEnders, The Bill) as Christopher Wren, Thomas Howes (Downton Abbey) as Sgt Trotter, Karl Howman (Brush Strokes) as Mr Paravicini, Bruno Langley (Coronation Street, Doctor Who) as Giles Ralston, Graham Seed (The Archers) as Major Metcalf and Jemma Walker (Family Affairs, EastEnders) as Mollie Ralston. Jan Waters will reprise her West End role as Mrs Boyle and Clare Wilkie (EastEnders) will play Miss Casewell.

The play is set in an isolated country house. Cut off by a blizzard, a group of strangers discover there is an unknown murderer in their midst and an evening of suspicion and intrigue begins. Full of plot twist and turns and the occasional red herring, this thrilling show will have everyone on the edge of their seat!

For over 50 years, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap has been the world’s longest running stage production. The record-breaking production will enter its 60th year in London’s West End, and on 25 November 2012 will celebrate the actual 60th Birthday with a gala in aid of Mousetrap Theatre Projects.

Mousetrap Productions has licensed 60 productions of The Mousetrap world-wide to mark the 60th year. During this period the world’s longest running show will be seen in every continent, with professional productions scheduled for Australia, China, Korea, Turkey, South Africa, Russia, Czech Republic, Hungary, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Poland, Spain, Scandinavia, Venezuela, and across the United States and Canada.

The Mousetrap continues at St. Martin’s Theatre, London where it is currently booking to December 2012.
