SKILLS FOR CREATIVE FUTURES - Strengthening the arts in Powys Powys Arts Service is running a free youth theatre skills day for young actors across Powys. Young people aged between 13 and 24 will have the opportunity to work with three highly experienced and professional practitioners from some of the most exciting companies working in the UK today.

Peepolykus create work that is inspired by a physical and impulsive approach to theatre. Peepolykus will be running a workshop encouraging natural and spontaneous reactions in performance. The results could be hilarious, impressive, moving or sometimes plain ridiculous.

Earthfall will be running a workshop which will be looking at what can be said physically and emotionally within set limitations. Participants will be exploring the creative process through their personal strengths, idiosyncrasies and individual movement styles.
Contact Theatre work nationally, and internationally to provide life changing opportunities for the next generation of creative leaders, artists, and audiences. Contact will be running a workshop exploring a fusion of techniques including hip-hop, music and physical theatre.

The day long festival will end with a fantastic live performance from Contact Theatre. They will be bringing their hit Edinburgh Show 'Country Boys Struggle' to the Dance Centre in Llandrindod at 8.00pm, Sat 27th Oct 2012.

Countryboy's Struggle is a fast-paced story '.about what it's like living in a rural environment and wanting to make urban music, then moving to the city and finding it's not what you expect - especially when your heart and soul is.with the community you grew up in.' The show features over 40 characters, all delivered by Golden, in a tour-de-force performance not to be missed.

This performance is open to all workshop participants and will cost just £1.00 for a ticket. This exciting performance is also open to members of the public at a cost of £6 and £4.
