JAM-PACKED NOVEMBER AT RCT THEATRES     

JAM-PACKED NOVEMBER AT RCT THEATRES Rhondda Cynon Taff Theatres play host to an exciting month of events this autumn. The Coliseum Theatre in Aberdare, The Muni Arts Centre in Pontypridd and The Park & Dare in Treorchy have a jam packed month of music, drama, dance, comedy and family events for young and old alike.

Kicking off on Thursday 1 November at The Muni Arts Centre is the Austin trio Hot Club Of Cowtown, this globe trotting, hard swinging trio fuse jazz and country creating an amazing sound that’s half-down and half boogie woogie. This refreshingly sweet natured old school treat promises to be an evening of superb music.

For the young ones The Park & Dare Theatre welcomes Tall Stories with their brand new show The Snail & The Whale on Saturday 3 November at 2.30pm. This heart-warming tale follows the story of a tiny snail who longs to see the world, so he hitches a ride on the tail of a huge humpback whale and together they go on an amazing journey. Created in Tall Stories unique style, The Snail & The Whale combines physical storytelling, live music, lots of laughs and is recommended for ages 4 and over.

Following last year’s stunning production of Madam Butterfly, Mid Wales Opera bring you another masterpiece Don Giovanni at The Coliseum Theatre on Friday 9 November at 7.30pm. This tragic tale of love, lust, betrayal and revenge is all played out to dramatic, overpowering and seductive melodies all bound to set your heart racing.

Don’t miss the American country music icon Matraca Berg at The Muni Arts Centre on Saturday 10 November at 8.00pm. Following the success of Wine, Women and Song, when Matraca performed alongside Suzy Borguss and Gretchen Peters, The Muni Arts Centre is delighted to welcome back one of Nashville’s most graceful singer/songwriters on her solo tour.

The Park & Dare Theatre also welcomes the return of a favourite at Comedy In The Laughter with Pappy’s Last Ever Show on Thursday 15 November at 8.00pm. This brand new show is full of sketches, songs and absolute silliness guaranteed to having you aching with laughter. This show contains adult material and is therefore recommended for ages 18 and over.

Saturday 17 November is a big day for The Park & Dare Theatre as the centenary celebrations begin with The Park & Dare Theatre Centenary Gala Fundraising Concert. An unforgettable and unrepeatable bill of fantastic performers come together in one dazzling night of music, song and laughter. Guests include Sophie Evans, Daniel Evans, Martyn Joseph, Amy Wadge, Chris Corcoran, Elis James, The Siren Sisters and special guest Mal Pope.

November goes out with a bang with the British hard rock legends Magnum performing at The Muni Arts Centre on Friday 30 November at 8.00pm. This stonking rock band is back with a brand new album and a string of hotly anticipated live gigs.
