Daring deeds, daftness, duels and a genuine Newport hero in green tights! Robin Hood has gathered his merrie men and women and is coming to town for this year’s Riverfront Panto which runs from 4 December 2012 to 5 January 2013. Tickets are flying out of the door with record-busting Pantomime ticket sales. If you liked last year’s panto, Cinderella, you’ll love this year’s Robin Hood. Prepare for sing-alongs around the camp fire. Our exciting new pantomime Robin Hood has something for everyone plus some great characters to love and hate. There’s the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham and his evil mother Mandragoria, everyone’s favourite best friend Much and his ever-so-slightly mad mother Dotty Doubtworthy, the trusty Friar Tuck and Little John and of course our hero and heroine Robin Hood and his Maid Marion. Robin’s fast-moving adventure is written and directed by the multi-talented Richard Gauntlett who gave us our fabulous Cinderella last year. And many of that cast join us again this year. We have everyone’s favourite dame Lee Mengo returning as Dotty, the versatile Richard Elis as the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham and funny man Keiron Self as the loveable Much, who was such a hit last year as Buttons. New faces this year are Elin Llwyd of Pobol Y Cwm fame as Maid Marion, Julie Hobbs returns as the evil Mandragoria and Simon Nehan as Little John.
