The New Theatre, Cardiff is excited to announce four exciting new shows for 2013 going on sale today. There is something for everyone in this spectacular line-up of The Woman in Black (Monday 29 April – Saturday 4 May), Save the Last Dance for Me (Tuesday 7 – Saturday 11 May), Spot’s Birthday Party (Thursday 2 – Saturday 4 May), and Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer Live! (Friday 14 – Sunday 16 June). Now celebrating its 23rd year in the West End and unanimously acclaimed by the critics, The Woman in Black is one of the most chilling and successful theatre events ever staged. Combining the power and intensity of live theatre with a cinematic quality inspired by the world of film noir, The Woman in Black delivers an evening of unremitting drama, transporting the audience into a terrifying and ghostly world. A lawyer engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It all begins innocently enough, but as they reach further into his darkest memories the borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh begins to creep... For musicals fans, Dreamboats & Petticoats meets Dirty Dancing in the all new rock ‘n’ roll musical, Save the Last Dance for Me. From the writers, producers, creators and director of the huge success that is Dreamboats and Petticoats, Save the Last Dance for Me will transport audiences back to music’s golden era of the early 60’s, as they follow two teenage sisters through the summer of ‘63. For the first time without their parents, the siblings embark on a holiday to the seaside. Full of freedom and high spirits they meet a handsome young American who invites them to a dance at the local U.S. Air force base... But young love and holiday romance is never as simple as it sounds, and the sisters soon realise that while the world around them is still watching itself in black and white, life and love can be much more colourful. Save the Last Dance for Me features classic hits including A Teenager in Love, Sweets for my Sweet, Turn Me Loose, Here I Go Again, Viva Las Vegas, Little Sister, His Latest Flame, Suspicion, Can’t Get Used to Losing You, Save the Last Dance For Me and many more… There are two wonderful shows for little theatregoers when Spot’s Birthday Party and Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer Live! arrive at the New Theatre. Firstly it’s the birthday of everyone’s favourite puppy and everyone is invited!
