National Dance Company Wales, (NDCWales), will close its autumn 2012 tour with two performances in Belarus. The Company performs its acclaimed work Dream, by Christopher Bruce on 25 November at the Concert Hall in Vitebsk, one of Belarus’ oldest cities and on 28 November at Palace of the Republic in the country’s capital, Minsk. Dream was created as part of Dance GB, the cultural Olympiad partnership between NDCWales, English National Ballet and Scottish Ballet. Dream celebrates the excellence of the UK in 2012 with a witty take on sporting endeavor and cultural achievement. The dance was performed on the Company’s autumn 2012 tour and received standing ovations in China, Wales and England. “We are excited to have the opportunity to perform in Belarus and showcase contemporary Welsh arts,” said NDCWales artistic director, Ann Sholem. “The venues are very impressive and we’re looking forward to presenting Dream, which celebrates a significant year in British culture.” Dream will be performed on the Company’s 2013 spring tour, which launches in Ireland in January 2013 and visits Wales, England, Scotland and Jersey.
