A CABINET OF CURIOSITIES at Aberystwyth Arts CentreWednesday 23 January, 7.45pm Peter Stevenson, Ailsa Mair Hughes and Pixy Tom carefully prise open A Cabinet of Curiosities, all creaking hinges and dusty cobwebs, to find stories, songs and illuminations, which could be Changeling Children and Cabarets, maybe Moonsongs and Magicians, or Dancing Bears and Dwynwen Dolls, Hunters and Hares, Mermaids or Hairy Men Women at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on Wednesday 23 January. This show is a series of short Magic Lantern Stories told by storyteller Peter Stevenson with songs and music from cellist Ailsa Mair Hughes and multi instrumentalist Pixy Tom. All the stories include many projected illustrations by book illustrator Peter, and can include the Hunter and the Mermaid, The Woman who married a Moon , The Lady of the Reservoir, The Sea Morgane, the Fairy Foxes, The Water Kelpie, The Fairy Ring and Tales of Y Tylwyth Teg. The show comprises short stories, and can be adapted to the occasion and the place, so can last any length of time from half an hour to an hour. For all ages provided you bring your Grandmother, for what is a story without a grisly grizzled Grandmother.
