‘Stute launches Spring season with a twist!
Blackwood Miners’ Institute launches its new season this month with a mouth-watering array of music, theatre, comedy, live music, family entertainment and more.

In 2011/2012 Caerphilly County Borough Council's Cabinet approved a three year programme of repairs to revamp Blackwood Miners’ Institute. Already, a massive amount of work has been done including renovating the front of house areas and new seating in the auditorium.

Now the works are into phase two and the auditorium will be closed for twenty weeks from January, as the back of the building is extended to provide better changing facilities for the top artists they book for your enjoyment.

However, the ‘Stute couldn’t starve their customers of the top quality entertainment that they are proud to present, so events have been programmed into Bedwas Workmen’s Hall as a temporary measure until the auditorium reopens. The Workmen's Hall has also had a recent facelift and all the original features are on show!

The very best acts have been lined up for resident’s enjoyment including the hilarious Mike Doyle on Friday 22nd March, a wonderful musical production The Elvis Years on Saturday 2nd February and the family favourite High School Rocks on Tuesday 12th February. Black RAT productions will perform Shakespeare’s famous tragedy Romeo and Juliet on Thursday 28th February .

However, the ‘Stute isn’t completely closed. Tickets for all of the shows can still be booked from the box office, and all workshops and classes will still run at The 'Stute as normal.

Fabulous evenings of entertainment will be held in the ‘Stute’s Navigation Bar. From comedy with the likes of John Robbins on Friday 1st February, Lloyd Langford on Saturday 2nd March and the monthly ‘Stute Comedy nights, to the NEW ‘Stute Acoustic Sessions, there’s something for everyone this season.

To find out more, or to book tickets for any of this season’s events, contact the Box Office at Blackwood Miners’ Institute on 01495 227 206 or visit www.blackwoodminersinstitute.com.
