Sexual Perversity in Chicago Living Pictures Productions presents Mamet’s award-winning play about single men and women
Let’s talk about Sex...

Living Pictures in association with Cegin Productions will be touring David Mamet’s award-winning dark comedy about the singles scene in 70s Chicago, Sexual Perversity in Chicago in February and March 2013.

Sexual Perversity in Chicago came to life again only a few years ago when British actress, Minnie Driver and Friends actor Matthew Perry, stared in the Broadway version. Now Mamet’s topical play comes to Wales.

Sexual Perversity in Chicago is play about single men and women, the bar banter, hidden feelings and the male/female divide when looking for a mate.

Set against the sexual politics of 1970’s America, Mamet’s play is an acutely observed dark comedy highlighting the complexities of love and sex that still resonate today.

The play follows two men and two women. Danny and Bernie are two male office workers who hang out in the bars in the swinging singles scene of Chicago in the 1970s.

In thirty short scenes, writer David Mamet traces the rise and fall of a relationship between Danny and Deborah from lovers to roommates in all its sticky details.

Co-Director of Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Robert Bowman says:

“Mamet captures the sexual politics of the 1970s brilliantly with his play and the themes this play explores are still relevant today.

For its time, it was a ground breaking examination the male/female mating ritual. No less so for its colourful language and the keen eye on the tortured and sometimes hilarious vagaries that takes place when 'A man loves a woman...'

Come step into the world of 70's Chicago, the music, the clothes, the accents and the Moustaches!”

Sexual Perversity in Chicago will open at Sherman Cymru in Cardiff on Wednesday 6 February before touring to Milford Haven, Aberystwyth, Pontardawe, Caernarfon, Wrexham and the new theratre in Llanelli, Y Ffrwrnes. Tne show is suitable for ages 16+ and contains strong language.
