Suitable for adults only. Back for more blood, gore and shocks galore is The Circus of Horrors, from Thursday 31 January – Saturday 2 February. This new show, which stormed into the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, takes audiences on a whirlwind journey back to 1920s Berlin. Featuring daredevil Circus acts from around the world, The Devil Doll sees this cult company back in Cardiff bigger, badder and better than ever! Not suitable for children. Gwen Taylor (Duty Free, Inspector Morse) and Don Warrington (Rising Damp, Holby City, Strictly Come Dancing) star in the West End and Broadway award-winning production Driving Miss Daisy from Tuesday 5 – Saturday 9 February. Winner of the Whatsonstage.com awards Best Play Revival 2012 and playing to sell-out audiences, this heart-warming play tells the compelling and touching tale of the unlikely, long-lasting friendship that blossoms between a prickly, elderly southern matriarch and her kind-hearted chauffeur. Roald Dahl’s classic story, James and the Giant Peach is the first of a number of great children’s shows this season. Open from Tuesday 12 – Saturday 16 February this magical story of James, his revolting aunts and an encounter with a mystical old man and an old peach tree is a half-term adventure for all the family to enjoy. Suggested age 4+. From Tuesday 19 – Saturday 23 February, Sebastian Faulks’s mesmerising story of love, courage and sacrifice is brought to the stage in this new adaptation of his bestselling novel Birdsong. This is an epic tale of love and war set before and during the Great War and marks the very first touring production of the play. Willy Russell’s legendary Blood Brothers returns to thrill Cardiff audiences from Monday 25 February – Saturday 2 March. This captivating story of twins who were separated at birth and go on to lead very different lives has won countless awards and enjoyed standing ovations at every performance. The memorable score includes Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and Tell Me It’s not True. The Birds are back! Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph return to the New Theatre by popular demand in Birds of a Feather, from Tuesday 5 – Saturday 9 March. Having sold out on its last visit, this hugely popular and fondly remembered sitcom takes to the stage for a laughter-filled show with Sharon, Tracy and of course, Dorien! Clwyd Theatr Cymru presents Rape of the Fair Country from Tuesday 12 – Saturday 16 March. A compelling and poignant drama that captures a family’s role in their nation’s turbulent past set in 1826 Wales. The Mortymers are a family caught in the bitter crossfire between their English employers and the early trade union movement. The brand new musical based on the music, life and times of Ike & Tina Turner Soul Sister arrives from Monday 18 – Saturday 23 March. Direct from the West End, this story follows the highs and lows of their careers and marriage. Includes the hit songs Simply the Best, Private Dancer, What’s Love Got to Do With It and many more. A fun-filled adaptation of the award-winning children’s book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt is brought vividly to life this on stage this Easter from Thursday 28 – Saturday 30 March. The catchy songs, interaction, and surprises will thrill little theatregoers. Suggested Age 3+. Toyah Willcox stars in the return of the Hormonal Housewives from Thursday 4 – Friday 5 April. Following on from their hugely successful last visit to Cardiff, the girls are back with hilarious new sketches about being a woman in the 21st Century. Suggested age 16+. Direct from the West End comes the hit black comedy from the writer of Father Ted The Ladykillers from Tuesday 9 – Saturday 13 April. With glowing reviews, the much loved Ealing classic is brought to life in a thrilling new production starring Michele Dotrice, Clive Mantle and Cliff Parisi. Sweet Mrs Wilberforce stands up to a gang of criminal misfits when she becomes embroiled in they heist job. The Agatha Christie Theatre Company returns with another thrilling adaptation from the Queen of Crime from Tuesday 16 – Saturday 20 April. Go Back for Murder is packed full of mystery and intrigue as Carla Le Marchant learns a disturbing family secret which sets her on a quest to clear her mother’s name. Northern Ballet presents a stunning adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald’s compelling story The Great Gatsby from Tuesday 23 – Saturday 27 April. Full of the style, elegance and indulgence of 1920s New York, this new ballet retells the story of mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby, and what really lies beneath his sparkling façade. The terrifying live theatre experience, The Woman in Black runs from Monday 29 April – Saturday 4 May. Critically acclaimed and inspired by the world of film noir, audiences will be transported into a ghostly world where the borders between reality and make believe blur when a lawyer engages a young actor to help him tell his petrifying story. It’s Spot’s Birthday Party and everyone’s invited from Thursday 2 – Saturday 4 May!
