Tutors required at Aberystwyth Arts Centre

Performing Arts at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre are looking for experienced tutors for community and schools work in all disciplines from next September.

Applications are particularly welcome from performing artists/tutors who are fluent in Welsh.

Community Dance Wales Events

Community Dance Wales is hosting the following events as part of its Steps in Time programme

* Creating Dance with Older People
Venue: Phoenix Centre, Swansea. Dates: 25/05/02 and 26/05/02, 08/06/02 and 09/06/02

* Capoeira
Highly physical Brazilian originated dance, taught by qualified practitioners and particularly suitable for youth groups
Venue: The Studio, Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold. Date: 14/06/02

* Anatomy and Physiology
Venue: Stiwt Theatre, Rhos. Date: 20/07/02

* Improvisation for dancers
Venue: Canolfan Conway Centre, Anglesey. Dates: 12/07/02 and 13/07/02

* Improvisation for dancers
South Wales Venue to be confirmed. Date: 23/06/02


Cost per course: 10.00 including refreshments. CDW is keen to remove all barriers to individuals attending their events. If you need financial assistance to pay for the above courses please contact Gemma Allen at CDW.

Theatr Fforwm Cymru - Agora conference

Theatr Fforwm Cymru have been working since 1993 throughout Wales and in other European countries, using theatre to promote emotional literacy and active citizenship.

TFC have recently received funding from the National Assembly, the ACW, and ELWa amongst others to formalise a project called Rehearsal for Reality (R4R). R4R creates spaces which allow citizens and policy makers to think creatively about issues affecting communities and to find workable solutions. The R4R project's activities involve the training of community groups in Theatre of the Oppressed techniques.The 20 Wales wide groups currently receiving training through the R4R project will imput into TFC's first national conference - the Agora.

The Agora offers the opportunity for policy makers and citizens to discuss and develop policies collaboratively as an experiment in creative democracy. The three conference days are themed as:

Arts Business Plan competition

An annual business plan competition has been announced by the Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB). The winning plan will receive 25,000 and four runners up 5000. Further details are available on the website.
