A Grimm Evening, Adapted & Directed by Richard Hull
11-13 April, 2013 at Aberystwyth Arts Centre

Looking for a sweet, soothing tale to waft you toward dream land? Look somewhere else.....

From Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th April 2013 @ 7.30pm, Aberystwyth Arts Centre's Youth Theatre Group present 'A Grimm Evening' inspired by workshops with the members of the Youth Theatre themselves. 'A Grimm Evening' is a new adaptation of storytelling and song based on the original fairy tales of the Brother’s Grimm that have bewitched young audiences for
centuries

Walk deep into myth and mystery as some of the most famous stories ever told come to life on stage...

Under the guidance of Richard Hull, the group improvised and devised
contemporary situations and scenarios using the Grimm's tales as a catalyst, and Richard has then taken these ideas and developed them into a script. So it's very much a World Premiere from the young minds of Aberystwyth!

With a cast of over forty young people from the local community, A GRIMM EVENING promises what can only be described as a very 'different' storytelling experience - Hansel suffers from an intolerance to Gingerbread, Snow White meets seven accountants, Rapunzel's hair extensions get her into trouble, Red Riding Hood is up on a charge of murder and Cinderella meets her Prince Charming on Blind Date.

All in all, a very enjoyable and light-hearted evening's entertainment of storytelling with a twist.

Suitable for children and families.

Tickets are £9 (£7). To book contact Aberystwyth Arts Centre Ticket Office on 01970 62 32 32 or go online www.aber.ac.uk/artscentre
