Earthfall at Edinburgh The world premiere of Pal O’ Me Heart, a unique fulldome adaptation of one of the Welsh dance company Earthfall’s most critically acclaimed productions, will be presented by the Dance Dome in association with Dance Base at the Grassmarket between 19th and 26th August.

The film forms part of a 35 minute trilogy to be shown in the Dance Dome with viewings every 45 minutes between 11am and 9pm daily.

The Dance Dome is a portable 360 ° cinema that blurs the boundaries between movement, digital technology and cinema, wrapping dance around the viewer to create a truly unique immersive experience.

Co-produced by Coreo Cymru (Creative Producer for Dance in Wales) and Urban Reaction Research Lab with support from the Arts Council of Wales and Chapter, the Dance Dome films have been created by an international crew and feature choreography by award-winning companies Earthfall, Taikabox and Harnisch-Lacey Dance Theatre.

As a self contained venue, the Dance Dome provides visitors with a visual experience normally only accessible from within a planetarium environment.

Carole Blade, Creative Producer for Dance in Wales said: “This unique programme will push the boundaries for both digital technology and contemporary dance. By using a portable dome, Coreo Cymru in collaboration with URRL are introducing a new form of presenting contemporary dance to the wider public”.

The world premiere of Pal O’ Me Heart will be accompanied by The Beautiful, featuring contemporary dance and Chinese pole and the 2012 Innovation Prize Winner at Domefest, USA, The Sublime, exploring break-dance and Parkour styles.

Jessica Cohen, Co-artistic Director of Earthfall said: “We are truly delighted to be part of what is an extraordinary and exciting project. Our stage show was acclaimed by audiences across the UK and Europe and we hope we can transfer the magic from the live performance into the film”.

The Dance Dome is presented by Dance Base at the Grassmarket, between 19th and 26th August.

Viewings are every 45 minutes between 11am and 9pm daily. Tickets £7.50
