Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at the New Theatre
Sam Attwater (Dancing on Ice) and Helena Blackman (How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?) star in the brand new production of the toe-tapping, feel-good musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at the New Theatre from Tuesday 24 – Saturday 28 September.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, the classic American musical set in 1850s Oregon, is getting a make over with award winning choreography by acclaimed Broadway director Patti Colombo, who has already won rave reviews for this version in the US.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers tells the story of Adam, the eldest of seven brothers living in the rural backwoods, who goes to town to get himself a wife. Convincing Milly to marry him that very same day, he forgets to mention that he has six brothers – all living together in his cabin. Milly decides to reform the uncouth siblings, who are anxious to get wives of their own. Then, after reading about the Roman capture of the Sabine women, Adam has what he think is an inspired solution to his brothers’ loneliness – they will kidnap the women they want!

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is packed with 16 timeless classics including Bless Your Beautiful Hide, A Woman Ought to Know Her Place and Goin’ Courtin’.

Sam Attwater (Adam) landed his first TV acting role in 2009 playing Ricky in Hollyoaks. He joined EastEnders the following year and its online spin-off EastEnders:E20 as Leon Small. His stage credits include Brad in the 40th Anniversary tour of The Rocky Horror Show, Dreamboats and Petticoats, Tonight’s the Night and 20th Century Boy.

Helena Blackman (Milly) was Gypsy Rose Lee in Gypsy, Dorothy in an acclaimed run of The Wizard of Oz, Nellie in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific, Gertie in Noel & Gertie and starred in The Secret Garden at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is produced by Paul Nicholas, Peter Frosdick and George Critchley.
