Shakespeare thriller at the Memo

Shakespeare thriller at the Memo

A fast-moving, exciting, accessible production of this ever popular tragedy that many have called Shakespeare’s thriller. With a full cast, the size of Shakespeare’s own original company, this tale will fill the stage with murder, treachery, blood and deceit.

Macbeth is Shakespeare’s shortest and bloodiest tragedy, and tells the tale of Macbeth who receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will be King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and pushed on by his wife Lady Macbeth he murders King Duncan and takes the throne. His reign is racked with paranoia and guilt and he soon becomes a tyrannical ruler as he is forced to commit more murders to protect the truth.

Directed by Derek Cobley, and featuring established and emerging actors from across South Wales, this play is a contemporary version of Macbeth, following the original script, which will involve modern warfare, modern Shakespeare and understandable imagery.

Don’t miss out on this brilliant opportunity to experience the thrill of Shakespeare’s words at the Memo Arts Centre, Barry on Monday 30 September at 7.30pm, and Tuesday 1 October at 1.30pm. Contact the Box Office on 01446 738622 for ticket details.
