SHAKESPEARE CLASSIC AT THE MUNI ARTS CENTRE

SHAKESPEARE CLASSIC AT THE MUNI ARTS CENTRE

This fast moving, exciting production of Shakespeare’s ever popular tragedy will fill the stage with murder, treachery, blood and deceit at The Muni Arts Centre on Monday 7 October at 7.30pm.

Macbeth is Shakespeare’s bloodiest tragedy and tells the tale of a brave Scottish general named Macbeth who receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will be King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and pushed on by his wife Lady Macbeth, he murders King Duncan and takes the throne. His reign is racked with paranoia and guilt and he soon becomes a tyrannical ruler as he is forced to commit more and more murders to protect the truth. Events then take Macbeth and Lady Macbeth through a journey of arrogance, guilt and death.

This new interpretation is a contemporary version of Macbeth so is set in modern times with modern warfare and understandable imagery, but will follow the original text.

Tickets cost £5.50 and are available from the Box Office on 08000 147 111 or book online @
