Corina Pavlova and the Lion’s Roar | Corina Pavlova a’r Llew sy’n Rhuo Sherman Cymru is pleased to announce the cast for it’s Christmas production for the under 7s, Corina Pavlova and the Lion’s Roar | Corina Pavlova a’r Llew sy’n Rhuo which sees two of last year’s cast members return to the company following their rave reviews. Actors Bethan Mai and Alun Saunders, who both appeared in Sherman Cyrmu’s lovable under 7s production of The Snow Tiger / Teigr yr Eira, will be back in Sherman Cymru’s new production and will be joined by Caitlin Richards who also appeared in Sherman Cymru’s production of The Elves and The Shoemaker/ Y Coblynnod a’r Cryddion in 2011. Corina Pavlova and the Lion’s Roar | Corina Pavlova a’r Llew sy’n Rhuo has been created by children’s author Elen Caldecott who has been commissioned to write her first play for children aged 3-6 and their families. Corina Pavlova and the Lion’s Roar | Corina Pavlova a’r Llew sy’n Rhuo will be touring Wales this November and December before returning to Sherman Theatre in December. Elen, who is originally from Wrexham, has written many children’s books including The Great Ice-Cream Heist, The Mystery of Wickworth Manor and Operation Eiffel Tower. Corina Pavlova and the Lion’s Roar | Corina Pavlova a’r Llew sy’n Rhuo is about a little girl who visits a unique pet shop, Mr McAlistair’s Pet Shop. The only pet shop in the world where the pet chooses you! When Mr McAlistair promises Corina Pavlova the perfect pet in time for Christmas, Corina can’t wait to find out what it might be. A kitten? A snake? A zebra, perhaps? Join Corina for an exciting adventure filled with animals of all shapes and sizes in a festive treat for all the family, full of singing, dancing and roaring! Following the success of The Snow Tiger | Teigr yr Eira, Associate Director of Sherman Cymru, Mared Swain will be directing,Corina Pavlova and The Lion’s Roar /Corina Pavlova a'r Llew sy'n Rhuo. “We were thrilled by the success of last year’s show and we want to continue to produce the same quality of work that captured the imagination of children and adults. We are really excited about this year’s production which has been written by a fantastic children’s author. We want children’s first experience with theatre to be magical, interactive and memorable. We want children to be engaged for the 60 minutes as well as learn about friendship, caring and kindness. This piece will really excite children and adults alike this Christmas.” Corina Pavlova and the Lion’s Roar | Corina Pavlova a’r Llew sy’n Rhuo will be at Sherman Theatre on 8 & 9 November before touring Wales venues throughout November and December. The show will then return to Sherman Theatre from 10 December 2013 – 4 January 2014. This production will have Welsh and English language performances.
