It may still be autumn 2013, but the New Theatre in Cardiff is already looking forward to spring and summer 2014! Five exciting new shows for next year have been announced for the popular city centre venue. They are Scooby Doo-The Mystery of the Pyramid (18 - 19 April 2014), Happy Days – A New Musical (29 April – 3 May 2014), Let It Be (19 – 24 May 2014), Doctor Dolittle (28 May – 1 June 2014) and Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story (1 – 5 July 2014).

Scooby Doo, Shaggy and all their friends bring their latest adventure Scooby Doo-The Mystery of the Pyramid all the way from Egypt to the New Theatre from Friday 18 – Saturday 19 April 2014. The Mystery Machine gang must solve the riddle of Hatchepsout’s Pyramid, not an easy task when they are contending with mummies and the wrath of the Pharaoh who is ready to transform anyone who dares to approach into stone! Zoinks!

Based on the hit TV show, Happy Days – A New Musical is at the New Theatre from Tuesday 29 April – Saturday 3 May 2014. Heidi Range (Sugababes), Ben Freeman (Emmerdale) and Cheryl Baker star in the premiere of this hilarious, feel-good musical that will have audiences rockin’ and rollin’ all week long. Everyone’s favourite 50's family, the Cunninghams and the rest of the gang – Potsie, Ralph Malph, Joanie and Chachi battle to save their beloved diner Arnold's from demolition. In a race against time, can King of Cool, The Fonz save the day?

Direct from the West End to Cardiff, Let It Be is a spectacular concert celebration of the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band – The Beatles. Audiences at the New Theatre from Monday 19 – Saturday 24 May 2014 will relive their story, from humble beginnings in Liverpool’s Cavern Club, through the heights of Beatlemania, to their later studio masterpieces in an energetic show that includes all their classic hits.

Wales’ No. 1 amateur company Orbit Theatre presents the family musical Doctor Dolittle from Wednesday 28 May – Sunday 1 June. All ages will be enchanted by this tale of an eccentric but kindly Doctor who can talk to the animals. Join him and his friends Polynesia the Parrot, Gub-Gub the Pig and Jip the Dog on an exciting journey from the village of Puddleby-in-the-Marsh to the far corners of the world in his search for the Great Pink Sea Snail!

Celebrating 25 amazing years, Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story returns to the New Theatre from Tuesday 1 – Saturday 5 July 2014. The most successful rock and roll show of all time charts the life of Buddy Holly from his meteoric rise to fame to his final legendary performance at The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. Everyone will love this exciting show full of drama, passion and all his classic hits performed by a cast of talented actors and musicians.
