Aberystwyth-founded theatre company Run Amok present a radical re-telling of British dramatist Sarah Kane's 4:48 Psychosis at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 December at 7.45pm. Showcasing the arresting talent of Aberystwyth graduate and actor Rhodri Brady as a one-man show, Run Amok Theatre Company aim to use Kane's text as an arch to explore our relationship with social media and network sites in relation to mental health issues in the 21st century. Directed by Aberystwyth Arts Centre Stage School Tutor, Singer and Workshop Facilitator Izzy Rabey with Maisie Baynham as lighting designer and production manager, this production will feature and promote Welsh-speaking, local theatre practitioners. The company have been facilitating workshops on the text and its thematic content in local Secondary schools in both Welsh and English alongside inviting members of Mind Charity to observe rehearsals. Run Amok have also engaged with the student population of Aberystwyth by employing talented emerging print artist Emily Dyble-Kitchin to design the poster. Run Amok believe in creating performance work with an emphasis on ensemble in conjunction with community awareness and engagement. Be prepared to see 4:48 Psychosis in an exclusively contemporary context, by a fresh and exciting emerging theatre company.
