Hijinx Pods: a double-bill of attention-grabbing theatre

Pithy, topsy-turvy and utterly engaging, Hijinx Theatre present two brand new one-act shows that will play with your perspective on life and make you question the way you see things. Sign up for Snoutology for Beginners, a seminar for humans, delivered by dogs, teaching you how to use your snout more effectively, or meet Flossie & Jet, sisters of faded grandeur, from stately home to state of homelessness, who are looking for a new place to settle. Each performed by one actor with learning disabilities and one without, these intimate two-handers reveal a spark of truth, imagination and comedy at close quarters that will stay with you for days.

Snoutology for Beginners and Flossie & Jet form part of a collection of five highly interactive comic
gems from Hijinx Theatre which will be touring from Spring 2014, alongside three existing Pods: the much-loved Snooks Brothers Bank and Snooks Brothers Aquatic which have toured extensively in Europe and the latter will be at Glastonbury 2014, and The Waiting Room which premiered at Wales Millennium Centre in Summer 2013.

The Pods mark a new and innovative way of touring for Cardiff-based Hijinx Theatre, who pioneer
opportunities for learning disabled actors. Designed with the audience playing a central role in the
action, you’ll find the Pods in a huge variety of spaces, from studio theatre to venue foyer, café,
street or field. Performed on a pick ‘n’ mix basis, different combinations will visit different venues,
keeping the performances fun and fresh for audiences to visit again and again.

Prior to embarking on a UK tour, a preview of the brand new Pods, Snoutology for Beginners and
Flossie & Jet can be seen free of charge at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on Friday 14 February at 2pm.
